Exploring Amazon Security Lake for Real Risk Quantification and Prioritization Across Your AWS Environment!!
-
Presenter: Dakota Riley

Abstract: Modern cloud security requires tangling with a variety of data sources, from cloud misconfiguration findings, vulnerabilities, threat detection findings, and other types of tooling! Each of these tools tend to provide a piece of your organizations security posture, but often need context from other tools or environments to give the full picture of actual risks. In this talk, we will cover:
The general concept of a Security Data Lake, and what kind of questions can we answer with it
The landscape of security tools both within AWS and typical enterprise cloud environments
Industry challenges with security data, tied in with AWS Security Tooling
An overview of the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF), the open source security data schema utilized by Amazon Security Lake
A quick overview of the workings of Amazon Security Lake
Applying Amazon Security Lake to risk quantification usecases with real world customizations and examples!

Learn about the benefits with examples how to create and maintain DEV, QA, and UAT environments using unique domain names
-
Presenter: Angelo Mandato

Abstract: Take DEV, QA and UAT environments to another level by using unique domain names for each environment. In this session we will go over two environments organized by unique domain names, go over the benefits of using unique domain names for environments, and provide best practices. Examples will demonstrate how to use Systems Manager Parameter Store with CloudFormation to maintain separate Serverless Lambda environments as well as traditional EC2 instances. We will discuss typical costs and cost savings by organizing your environments by domain names and how to right size each environment.

GRC Engineering – Automating Compliance Assessments with Audit Manager
-
Presenter: Lloyd Evans

Abstract: Traditional compliance assessments are hard. Most rely on manual, point-in-time checks, especially those in the public sector. Taking these practices and re-engineering them with automated checks significantly reduces compliance burden. To accomplish this, we use a combination of Audit Manager, Config, SecurityHub, and the AWS services our system uses. This approach reduces assessment time and toil and increases data quality.

We have HOW many Documents? Architecting Modern Document Processing
-
Presenter: Drake Pocsatko

Abstract: Even now in the digital age, many industries still rely on human readable documents to operate. Having dedicated teams to review and process documents is both time consuming and expensive, and the people doing the work certainly aren’t having any fun. With cloud tools, you can architect a modern document processing solution that is entirely serverless, allowing you to increase document flow and dedicate your team members to more valuable tasks. This talk will discuss why document processing is an important automation target, which types of cloud services enable this architecture, cover a real client use cases to show how impactful intelligent processing can be, and end with a short demo processing a document and retrieving relevant data with an API.
